The Print and Materials Analysis Laboratory (PMAL) is an independent testing laboratory, equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation and technical staff with expertise in industry printing, color, and materials evaluation standards, including ISO, ASTM, DIN, FINAT, and TAPPI. PMAL has established long-term relationships and an excellent reputation supporting the quality assurance, troubleshooting, and product development efforts of diverse companies from around the world. Specific services include comparative print performance analysis, color printing & raw material audits, defect analysis, and competitive benchmarking, in addition to industry sponsored programs including the IDEAlliance Proofing and Digital Press System Certification Programs and and the ColorLok, and ColorPro media evaluation programs.

RIT experts participate in industry standards development, including IDEAlliance Print Proerties Committee, CGATS, and ISO TC 130.
